Looking to gain your lgv licence to drive a lorry or tow a trailer then look no further. We provide full lgv training and tests for B+E (Car & Trailer), C1 (7.5 tonne), C (rigid lorry) and C+E (Articulated Lorry) from our LGV Training Centre in Gateshead.
Starting from scratch – You will need to gain your provisional licence before you can do anything else. In order to gain this licence you will need to have a medical known as a D4 Driver Medical. This medical is then sent off to the DVLA who will give you your provisional entitlement and now you can really get started.
The next step is to begin your LGV training by completing your theory, hazard perception and Inital CPC module 2 (if required), once you have passed the theory and hazard perception then you can get in the truck and start your lessons. Typically training in the vehicle is completed in one block ie. Monday – Friday with the test on the Friday. The final part is your Initial CPC module 4 (if required) and there you have it.
Already have your category C licence (Class 2) – Nice and simple for you as the category C on your licence automatically gives you provisional to drive C+E (Artics). So you are ready to jump straight into the truck and undertake your training. Again typically completed in one block of 3-5 days with the test at the end of the training.
Here at North East Driving School we help you every step of the way from gaining your provisional to passing your practical test and all the theory and driver CPC that goes along with it. Talk to one of the team today to get started.
