Driver CPC Training

Periodic Driver CPC Training Courses

North East Driving School is known as the leading HGV Training in the North East however you may not know that it also delivers approved Driver CPC training for wannabe and qualified drivers alike.

Our DCPC syllabus can be delivered online and in classroom, or indeed throughout multiple locations in the UK, with regular courses running weekly, developed and delivered by Qualified Transport Managers who also each hold CAT CE entitlement.

What is Driver CPC?

A Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) is legally required for all professional drivers: Lorry, bus and coach. It should be noted that you can not attend the same course twice within 5 years, unless you have a valid reason to do so.

When do I need Driver CPC training?

The legal requirement is that you must complete 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years in order to maintain your DCPC.

Should any driver allow their certificate to lapse, and they continue to drive professionally, they could be fined up to £1000.

Once you complete your initial CPC you will be issued with a Driver Qualification Card. You should carry this with you at all times whilst driving professionally.
