Driver CPC (DCPC) is required for almost all new drivers who wish to drive vehicles of 7.5 tonne for hire and reward.
Do you need to conduct driving assessments on your fleet drivers? Under HSE legislation the simple answer is yes. The NEDs team can carry out objective driving assessments following accidents, for new drivers or simply to monitor continued competence over time.
NEDs also offer out CAT C1, C, C + E candidates a free ‘taster session’ before taking their lessons.
All professional drivers are required to take part in 35 hours of periodic training. The idea behind the DCPC initiative is simple: to improve road safety and driving standards.

Anyone wishing to run a transport department must be able to demonstrate that they are ‘professionally competent’.
