Category C1

7.5 Tonne Category C1 Licence

Passed your car after January 1997? You will need to gain CAT 1 entitlement to drive vehicles up to 7.5 tonne.

Cat C1 is not our most popular training package, there’s no doubt about it. That’s because we hardly ever advertise the programme. That being said, this training is ideal for those of you who are training for a new career in the ambulance service, or for anyone who may wish to drive horse boxes. Regardless, we take pride in training you.

However, any driving school that tries to talk you into CAT C1 training, without first telling you the benefits of going for your CAT C training (as opposed to C1) in our mind, is just looking to take your money.

Why?

Because from holding your car licence, you can bypass CAT C1 and jump straight in for your CAT C, which will allow you drive any vehicle of up to 32 tonnes. So, in effect you are getting two categories for the price of one.

Should you wish to participate in CAT C1 training, our training package does include a guaranteed pass when you train with us, just as all of our training programmes do!

Our training for CAT C1 includes Driver medical, application for provisional entitlement, Theory and Hazard perception study material, training and test, as well as your Initial CPC qualification – should you need it.

*(Those of you who are wishing to drive for the ambulance service will not need to study for your Initial CPC qualification)
